About Me

I am a middle school math and science teacher that loves teaching chemistry and enjoying a different kind of chemistry with my husband every single day. I have always loved romance stories and get to live a real-life romance with my “cowboy” and our two beautiful children. I grew up on the beaches of Southern California and consider myself a “surfer girl” at heart.

As the daughter of an ex-Mexican drug smuggling surfer and a librarian, two of my greatest loves in life are the ocean and books. I am a nerd through and through that adores all things science and fantasy. I am a huge fan of Harry Potter (proud Gryffindor) and other young adult fiction stories.

I love writing about meaningful characters and deep emotions, especially in a fantasy or science fiction setting. I hold a degree in psychology, which serves me well in emotionally connecting with others. I try to use my own personal experiences in my writing whenever I can. I especially enjoy writing #ownvoices stories about neurodiverse characters. I firmly agree with Robert Frost when he says “No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader.”

I am a member of the SCBWI (Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators), Romance Writers of America (RWA), YARWA (Young Adult Chapter of the RWA), OCCRWA (Orange County Chapter), and ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers).

I am a writing blogger with “Quills and Inkblotts” and have had three short stories published. I hope to add to that list soon!
